Porsche 911 Oil Pressure Gauge Bouncing? Try This First

My Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2L oil pressure gauge has been bouncing around far more than the actual oil pressure could possibly be changing. Before replacing the VDO oil pressure sender or pulling the gauge, I started with the simplest possibility: a dirty electrical connection. In this video, I clean the sender terminal and wire connector, then add a temporary ground to determine whether the sender body has a poor connection to the engine. After warming the engine and testing it both with and without the extra ground, the gauge remains stable. The problem was simply contamination at the sender connection—an easy fix that cost nothing. If your 1984–1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2L has a flickering, bouncing or erratic oil pressure gauge, check the wiring, terminal and sender ground before buying replacement parts. Sometimes these old cars just need a little electrical maintenance. Thanks for watching! I got a new flashlight that I used in this video to highlight the sender check it out here: https://amzn.to/4gKK032 #Porsche911 #Carrera32 #OilPressure Patreon   / ahhgaragetime   Instagram   / ahhgaragetime   FB   / ahhgaragetime   Website https://www.ahhgaragetime.com
