Tevye’s Jewish faith means a lot to him, and even under difficult circumstances, he strives to maintain it. From his daughter’s choosing husbands who aren’t as traditionally Jewish as Tevye would like, to the Tsar evicting Jewish people from their village, Tevye has many battles to face. But his daughters’ unexpected choice in husbands starts to open up Tevye’s heart to new possibilities, and his close-knot community soon needs him.
