Rajasthan, l'âme d'un prophète

In India, in the heart of the Thar Desert, a community has also been working for over 500 years! The Bishnois live in complete symbiosis with nature, going so far as to sacrifice their lives to preserve wildlife and trees. Thus, each year they offer a tenth of their harvest to wildlife and the women nurse orphaned fawns whose mothers have been killed by poachers or stray dogs. What is the reason for such dedication? In a country experiencing full economic growth, where the environment is far from being a priority, how are they perceived? How do they view our world in return? By following the intersecting destinies of several members of the Bishnoï community, director Franck Vogel questions the place of man within the living world and his responsibility towards future generations.
