Chicken pox treatment after transplant - 2026 Pediatric Transplant Conference
This presentation will focus on chicken pox (varicella) in children and young adults after transplant, when immune suppression can increase the risk of serious illness. The session will explain why chicken pox is a concern post-transplant, how it is diagnosed and treated, and what patients and families should do if exposure or symptoms occur. Prevention strategies, warning signs that require urgent care, and how families can work with their transplant team to respond quickly and safely will also be discussed.
