Influenced by her mother, who runs a teahouse, Miehina entered the world of the entertainment district upon graduating from junior high school. She became a maiko and trained for five years. She spent busy days practicing her art during the day and working in the o-zashiki (traditional Japanese tea ceremony) at night.
