I watched a Short of Miyako playing Dragonforce's "Through The Fire And The Flames." And I need you to understand something — if I had that video on mute, I would have thought she was about half a step from a nap. No expression. No theatrics. Just the most unbothered face I have ever seen on someone shredding a guitar at that velocity. I don't know if that made me more excited or more nervous going in. What I do know is that I was absolutely amped by the time "Burden of Time" started. And then the song hit. And none of that nervous energy mattered anymore. "Burden of Time" resonated with me in a way I wasn't fully prepared for. I am currently in a real struggle with time — how I spend it, how I manage it, how desperately I want to slow it down and make it count. And here's Asami, standing in front of me, pleading with the room to live like it's your last day, every day. I heard that. I actually heard it. But while Asami is delivering that message with everything she has — Miyako and Midori are doing something I can only describe as defying gravity. The riffs shift. The time signatures change. The tempo moves in ways that shouldn't work but somehow feel inevitable. And the whole time, this trick of the ears keeps happening — the song feels like it's going at one pace, and then you realize Haruna has been at a completely ferocious tempo the entire time, without a single break. It's stimulating in the most disorienting, wonderful way. And I want to experience it again with every single LOVEBITES song I hear. That brings me to something I have to say out loud. LOVEBITES is the one and only band — the only band — that has brought me to actual tears on every single video. Every new song, there is a moment. Something that takes your breath away. Something that leaves me completely in shambles before I've even fully processed what just happened. I don't know how they keep doing it. But thank you, LOVEBITES.
