Divisive People and False Teachers - Romans 16:17-23 (11.3.19) - Dr. Jordan N. Rogers
Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching through The Book of Romans in this sermon on Romans 16:17-23 entitled, "Divisive People and False Teachers." Until Christ returns, we must guard our unity and persevere in true doctrine. Much of the New Testament is dedicated to the defense of the biblical Gospel. Jesus accomplished the work of redemption through His righteous life, atoning death, and victorious resurrection from the dead. The Apostles recorded the life and work of Jesus and then proceeded to defend the truth of the Gospel from false teachers. In Romans 16:17-23, the Apostle Paul warns Christians to “watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine you have been taught.” He goes on to explain two reasons why we must be on guard for such people. First, divisive people and false teachers don’t serve Jesus; they prey on the unsuspecting. Second, divisive people and false teachers will tempt you to betray the truth of God’s Word. Until Christ returns and destroys once and for all the enemy of our soul, we must guard our unity and persevere in true doctrine. The following is a sermon from Romans 16:17-23 and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch.
