"Why Did I Make a DVD?" In this video, I explain the reasons for creating the "Step Up Ballet Lesson" DVD/Blu-ray. There's something I've always felt. That is, the lack of connection between regular basic lessons and variations performed on stage. Without understanding "why" they're doing a particular exercise, students often skip important stages without realizing it, leading to difficulties or even injuries. Therefore, instead of simply teaching variations, I wanted to create teaching materials that build a step-by-step path to "how" to get there. For the filming, aiming for lessons that could be replicated by children all over Japan, I deliberately enlisted the cooperation of dancers learning in various environments. While maintaining their individuality, by building a strong foundation, their dancing naturally becomes more synchronized. That's the kind of lesson I wanted to create. And above all, the filming experience was truly heartwarming. Dancers and staff alike, everyone was seriously dedicated to creating the work, and before we knew it, the line between work and play had blurred. It was two days filled with an atmosphere of "fun and happiness."
