Making a New Classic Wooden Steering Wheel

In this video I am making an all new wooden steering wheel in a classic design. The design was drawn up by me and is inspired by the wheels of the 1920's with a deep dished 4 spoke design. The spokes were drawn up in CAD and 3D printed, the print was used to create the castings shown in Aluminium which is then machined to house the steering shaft and nut behind the central cap. The rim for this wheel was made in Oak, finger jointed and CNC cut with keys that completely conceal the spoke mountings. This steering wheel is destined for use on a boat and is not designed or certified for use within a car.
