Inside Alabama's Most EXTREME Cave Dig Project
We are BACK at the most extreme cave dig project in Alabama, and this time, we brought reinforcements! Joining us for this massive push is a crew of Hoosiers, our good friends Robby and Leanne, and a newer caver, Brandon, who was eager to get some hands-on experience under his belt. To tackle this project efficiently, we split into two dedicated teams: The Dig Team: Myself, Robby, Danny, Danny's son Jonathan (JD), Greg, and Val. The Survey Team: Jason, Leanne, and Brandon. The dig team hit the entrance first to start modifying the passage and hauling out spoils. Robby rigged up an incredible 3-to-1 haul system for the rock buckets, which saved our backs as Danny worked on making the passage larger. As each bucket came out, it was hauled up to a ledge where a wall was being built to store it all. Meanwhile, Jason and his crew restarted the survey from the entrance, as he has transitioning over to a fully digital format using TopoDroid. After a few hours of intense digging and hauling, the survey crew met up with us to help haul buckets. We successfully opened the passageway enough to continue the survey, but with the clock ticking, we had to call it a day. Of course, a true TAG caving trip wouldn't be complete without exiting into a torrential downpour before heading back to camp! WHAT'S NEXT? 🎥 Make sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell! In our next video, we pick the survey right back up and push it through the newly cleared dig to map the rest of this incredible system, which features 6 drops total and plunges over 400 feet deep. You won’t want to miss it! ⏳ TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 - Returning to Alabama's Most Extreme Cave Dig 00:18 - The Crew: Welcoming the Hoosiers & New Cavers 01:30 - Getting to the Entrance 13:43 - Dig Team In!
