¿Quién sobrevive si la Tierra dejase de girar?

❓ What would happen if the planet suddenly stopped? ✅ If the Earth stopped rotating, the disaster would not be the same for everyone: at the equator the speed is around 1,670 km/h, and that inertia would cause everything that is not "ground" to be thrown off as in a crash without a seatbelt. In the video, we illustrate the idea with numbers and extreme locations: from the equator, where the impact would be directly lethal, to Svalbard, the northernmost city in the world, where even at "only" around 260 km/h the chances of survival remain minimal. Then we go to the extreme: the South Pole and the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, the only place where this explosive acceleration practically disappears… although living there means an average annual temperature of -50°C and half a year of darkness. An unexpected potential lifeline also comes into play: people on board airplanes, who could survive if the pilots manage to cope with violent winds and storms, with up to 1 million passengers flying at any given time. But even if some people remained, the planet would change completely: six months of day and six of night, extreme heat on the sunlit side and brutal cold on the dark side, fires caused by friction, and an even greater blow: a nearly vanished magnetic field, more solar radiation, and goodbye to the auroras. And yet, there is one final twist: the Moon, which today slows us down and moves away, could begin to gently nudge us so that, in time, the Earth starts rotating again… and the world that is reborn will bear no resemblance to the one we knew.
