A Quiet Trip to Palm Springs | Musk Perfume, Mid-Century & Reflection

Brennan and I took a spontaneous trip to Palm Springs, a place we hadn’t visited in years. It was nice to hang out in a place with a slower pace and a lot of parking. After a perfect lunch of fish and chips at Billy Reed’s, we checked out vintage stores, soaking in mid-century architecture and desert light. A surprise mini-golf course almost delayed our return to Los Angeles, but the pugs were waiting. We drove past windmills in the desert on the way home, slowly turning against an inky sky. Join me in this video as I: • Visit Spellbound Sky and get a great recommendation from its owner Martin • Pass banks and buildings that echo Le Corbusier and modernist architecture • Arrange roses from my garden into a quiet bouquet • Light one of my favorite home candles, Melograno by Santa Maria Novella • Talk about musk perfumes and wear my favorite, Muschio. I recently watched the documentary A Secret Mall Apartment, about artist Michael Townsend living inside a shopping mall as a conceptual artwork. His decision to treat life itself as art stayed with me. It made me think about how intention, awareness, and kindness can shape daily choices. We're living in dark times. We've witnessed a grotesque erosion of decency, particularly in those with the greatest power and influence. I find some solace in the notion of living in a work of art - being truthful and aware of the things around me and focusing on how my words and actions affect other people. I've found others who seem to have the same approach. Learning from then (you) has been one of my biggest privileges so far and gives me the hope that I need right now. Thank you for being here. What’s your favorite musk perfume? And what helps you live more intentionally?
