Many government buildings, embassies, and offices are in Ankara. The president of Turkey also lives in the city. Ankara has a long history. It was once part of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires. One of the most famous places in the city is Anıtkabir, the tomb of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. The city also has museums, parks, and old castles. People can enjoy Turkish food in many restaurants. The weather is cold in winter and hot in summer.
