Orientações Pós Cirurgia - Tenorrafia Tendão Flexor

Post-operative Guidelines for Tenorrhaphy Surgery (tendon suture) of the Finger Flexors. After surgical treatment, which involves suturing the tendon, the hand and fingers must be protected for 3 weeks to prevent the stitches from breaking. However, the hand cannot remain completely still and immobilized for a long time, as the tendon tends to adhere (stick) to the bone, skin, and pulleys. This adhesion does not improve easily with physical therapy, and the finger may become stiff and lose some movement. ACTIVE movement of the fingers is not permitted, as it can break the stitches. PASSIVE movements are important to reduce adhesions! These guidelines serve as the initial phase of physical therapy. Note: These guidelines are only valid for my patients who have undergone flexor tendon surgery!
