The engine came in due to excessive blow-by, and several problems were identified during the inspection: Torn valve cover gaskets on aftermarket billet valve covers, potentially allowing oil into the ignition coils, affecting performance. Wear on the intake camshaft and bucket. A leaking head gasket with exhaust traces found on multiple cylinders. Piston-to-cylinder wall contact from aggressive engine use. Loose billet main caps in the saddle, causing abrasions on the pads as they moved around. Main and rod bearings showing signs of wear, with the main bearings starting to break apart, leading to crankshaft damage. High-stress conditions causing deformation of the small end rod bushings, with the piston pin making contact in the piston pin bore.
