How Finn's Dads Taught Us Masculinity
Martin Mertens is one of the most frustrating characters in Adventure Time, at least the first time we actually met him. He's build up to be some enormous hero, but in the end he's just a father who runs from responsibility, loyalty, and even his own son. But that’s exactly why his story matters. By showing the damage caused, he becomes a powerful contrast to Finn’s growth. And besides that... Finn had some pretty cool father figures stepping in.
