Lo que NADIE te dice de la ARTRODESIS LUMBAR 💡 Qué es, EJERCICIO y SECUELAS tras OPERACIÓN

How many patients come to our clinic wondering exactly what lumbar arthrodesis is and what their chances are of developing disability after lumbar arthrodesis surgery? What is the function of this arthrodesis, or what problems does it prevent? First of all, you should know that L5-S1 arthrodesis surgery is the most common. Lumbar arthrodesis is a very common surgery performed in the lumbar (and cervical) region to improve symptoms such as pain (lower back pain), radicular problems, and loss of strength, among many others. It is important to know all the exercises that can prevent possible complications after lumbar surgery. Lumbar arthrodesis is usually performed at the L3-L4, L4-L5, or L5-S1 vertebral levels, although it can be performed in other areas. It does not necessarily have to be a cause of disability. It involves bone grafting or the use of a prosthesis with replacement materials in the lumbar region to stabilize two or more vertebral bodies, eliminating the movement that occurs between them when we suffer from conditions such as herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, or osteoarthritis. This movement is the cause of lower back pain, tingling in the feet, or loss of strength. If you want to know more about this injury, you can write to me in the comments; I'd be happy to help. I have some videos that detail the best exercises for patients who have undergone lumbar fusion surgery and how to improve any potential aftereffects.
