Midday News - A brawl at a Buddhist ordination ceremony escalated into a car chase in the middle of a village, resulting in serious injuries. CCTV footage from Ban Thai Ko, Tri Trungs Subdistrict, Mueang Kamphaeng Phet District, shows a motorcycle fleeing a pursuing pickup truck. People in the pickup truck threw objects at the motorcycle before it went out of the camera's view. The pickup truck then rear-ended the motorcycle, severely injuring the female motorcyclist, who lay motionless. Villagers rushed to her aid. The passenger on the motorcycle fled, fleeing from their assailants who threw bottles at him. Video footage also shows the man carrying a gun while fleeing. Rescue workers arrived to assist the injured, and police from Mueang Kamphaeng Phet Police Station investigated. They found four people injured: two from the motorcycle and two from the pickup truck. Three pickup trucks and one motorcycle were damaged. The injured were immediately transported to the hospital, and witness statements were taken. The chase in the middle of the village stemmed from a fight at a Buddhist ordination ceremony. Two groups of teenagers attended a Buddhist ordination ceremony and got into a fight. At the ceremony, people tried to stop the fight, and both sides separated. However, the incident didn't end there. As the injured party was about to ride their motorcycle home, the opposing group chased after them in a pickup truck, attempting to assault them, as seen in the CCTV footage. This resulted in a collision, causing injuries, and the opposing group continued to chase and attack them. The father of one of the injured stated that his son was on the back of the pickup truck, chasing the motorcycle to get them to stop and talk, but the motorcycle refused. He also mentioned that the motorcyclist appeared to brandish a gun, causing the driver to panic and collide with the motorcycle. The passenger then fled with the gun, while the female driver sustained injuries. The host of the ordination ceremony expressed deep regret, stating that they did not know the opposing group or their son's friends. They had announced three times over the temple's microphone, pleading for people to avoid conflict at the religious ceremony, but the incident persisted. They stated that the actions had severely damaged their son's ordination and that they would pursue legal action against all involved. Later, when questioned, Mr. Bo, the man seen running with the gun, admitted that he had intervened to stop his friends from fighting and had apologized to the other party. However, he was attacked by the opposing group. Afterwards, he went home to get a BB gun to carry for self-defense and had his sister drive him on her motorcycle to retrieve his car from the party venue. Along the way, a pickup truck driven by the opposing group followed them, and someone in the back of the truck threw bottles at them before crashing into his sister, injuring her. He insists on pursuing legal action against the opposing group to the fullest extent. Currently, the police are questioning the injured party and witnesses at the scene and gathering evidence.
