After many cold and windy weeks in Ireland, the sunshine finally arrived. I made the most of those days - a trip to the seaside with my dog, a walk through the forest collecting fresh spruce shoots, some gentle work in the garden, and a few seasonal experiments in the kitchen. In this video, I gather young spruce shoots for a homemade tincture, dry lemon balm for tea in a two different ways, make rhubarb compote and garlic scapes wit eggs, while simply enjoying the chance to spend time outdoors - surrounded by greenery, sunshine and the scent of late spring. It's a relaxing video, to take a breath and slow for a moment, with relaxing music, calm narration and natural sounds. This is not a film about big projects or dramatic changes. It is a record of a few ordinary days that remind me how much joy can be found in simple things and in making use of what the season has to offer.
