Ivanchuk's Moscow Crushes Kasparov

Featured is an excellent chess game between Vasyl Ivanchuk and Garry Kasparov from the 1991 Linares tournament. In response to Kasparov's Sicilian Defense with 2. d6, Ivanchuk chooses the Moscow variation. By move 9 we observe minor pieces imbalances along with a structural imbalance. This is a model game for this particular structure, and one of the most crushing defeats you'll find of Kasparov. In the final position all of Kasparov's pieces are all of their backfoot and without any counterplay prospects.
