Ivanchuk Crushes a Pseudo-Catalan in 12* Moves

Featured is a sharp chess game between Lars Bo Hansen and Vasyl Ivanchuk from the 1986/87 European Youth Championship. Confronting a Pseudo-Catalan Opening, Ivanchuk immediately challenges Hansen’s center with his c-pawn. Notably, without committing to e6, Ivanchuk's light-squared bishop maintains active possibilities. After only 12 moves, Ivanchuk obtains a decisive advantage, with the rest of the game showcasing a complete collapse of Hansen's kingside.
