45 Minute Restorative Yoga – Slow Down, Soften & Find Ease
Welcome to this 45 minute restorative yoga practice. This class is designed to help you slow down, soften and find ease. Restorative yoga reminds us that sometimes the most powerful practice is simply learning to rest. By supporting your body and softening effort, we create space to experience the quiet ease that yoga describes as Sukha. Through gentle movement and a series of supported postures, we create the conditions for Sukha, a sense of ease, comfort and inner spaciousness. We begin with simple breath awareness and light movement to settle the body. From there we move into longer held restorative shapes (held for 3-5 minutes each), fully supported with props so your muscles can soften and you can experience deep rest. Rather than stretching deeply or striving in the poses, restorative yoga invites us to rest into support and allow the body to release naturally. The practice concludes with a Golden Thread breathing meditation followed by quiet relaxation in Shavasana. This class is ideal if you are feeling at all overwhelmed, overstimulated, fatigued or in need of rest.
