COLDRIDE: a Winter Fat Bike Ultra

Running for the first time, Coldride Cranbrook is community building fat bike event that promises cold temperatures, warm vibes and a big challenge across two different distances: 55km (The Freezie) and 130km (The Big Chill) courses. On Saturday, February 1st, likeminded fat bikers from all over gathered together in Cranbrook BC to tackle a massive two-wheeled adventure through a winter wonderland of epic Rocky Mountain scenery. It would be my very first winter ultra race, and it exceeded my expectation in both challenge and enjoyment. Beyond being a cycling race, Coldride is committed to providing an inclusive, safe, welcoming atmosphere with a focus on supporting locals causes. This year, event proceeds were distributed to the South Star Trail system in Cranbrook, along with other local charities. I can't recommend this event enough!
