Visual acuity test with Snellen eye chart examination for nursing students. This eye examination checks cranial nerve II, which is the optic nerve. You'll want the patient to stand approximately 20 feet from the Snellen chart. You'll also want them to wear any glasses or contact lenses during this eye examination.
