While they’re called the “daiou kurage” (ダイオウクラゲ) in Japanese, their scientific name is Stygiomedusa gigantea (スティギオメデューサギガンテア). As the name suggests, their size is extraordinarily big for a jellyfish. They prefer to stay out of sunlight since they live in the deep sea. Perhaps it is due to this fact that our jellyfish girl has a gloomy personality and a tendency to avoid any kind of communication. She’s lately overheard fellow jellies talk about others who’ve been in contact with humans. This sparked the jellyfish girl’s curiosity, giving her the motivation to sometimes show up on the surface despite not being fond of it. While she thinks of herself as a good-for-nothing, her desire for approval is still high. Sadly, among fellow jellyfish she’s known as a troublesome person the moment you befriend her… Thus, she finally runs into her first human, our protagonist, having almost no experience interacting with others.
