Blaze Foley: Faded Loves (alt doc opening)

(The alternate opening for the documentary Blaze Foley: Duct Tape Messiah.) In creating the documentary about Blaze Foley, we considered many different openings. A good opening is hard to create, because it has to work hard: set up the theme, establish expectation for what the film is about, build anticipation and set the hook, making the viewer want to watch the rest of the film. Although this particular opening works well, by showing Blaze and establishing him as a quirky character, it's not a good first impression and it's not his best performance. But I love his jokes and banter with the audience, which people tell me was one of the fun parts of his show, his talking with the audience.
