Resident Evil 5's DLC Was... Actually Pretty Good?
After its release, Resident Evil 5 would quickly shoot up to being the best selling Resident Evil title of all time. This is a title that RE5 actually still holds to this day, with over 15.2 million copies sold in the last 16 years. And while Capcom has certainly made a lot of questionable business decisions over the years, they of course weren’t going to let this be the end of Resident Evil 5’s success. They had a side team start working on some DLC content for the game to fill the gap between RE5 and RE6, and roughly a year after the game’s initial release, we would see four separate DLC packs be released over the course of about 3 weeks. And while I was initially going to just make a quick mention of these DLC’s in my main RE5 video, I ultimately realized that there’s enough here to warrant a separate video, even if it is going to be a bit shorter than most in the RE Retrospective. So, were these DLC’s any good? And more importantly, are they worth going back and checking out if you missed them back in the day? Well, let’s talk about it.
