They were never seen again. What made their disappearance so baffling was what they left behind: ample food, shelter, and a fire still burning in the hearth. Two seasoned outdoorsmen, entirely at home in one of the most unforgiving landscapes on earth, had simply walked out into the wilderness without taking anything they needed.
