Many people know about Miranda Rights, but far fewer understand the rights available to crime victims or the legal barriers that can prevent accountability when constitutional rights are violated. In this discussion, representatives from the Illinois Accountability Coalition, Care for Victims, and the Institute for Justice explore victims' rights, qualified immunity, and ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability and transparency in Illinois. Topics include civil rights litigation, access to justice, government accountability, and the challenges many victims face when seeking legal remedies.
