Böseckendorf Ein Dorf flieht in den Westen (2004, 2005)

On the evening of October 2, 1961, 53 residents of a village in Thuringia fled to the West. It was the largest escape across the inner-German border since the construction of the Berlin Wall. A total of 14 families left everything behind and risked their lives to escape the strictly controlled and regulated daily life in the "restricted zone" on the GDR border.
