Raising A Baby Grackle: part IV - by Mike Franzman

An abandoned grackle, in urgent need of food, warmth & shelter, was brought to me on the evening of May 22. While I always recommend putting the bird back in the nest, so adult birds will raise it, it was not an option in this case: the nest and adults had been attacked by other animals, and plummeting nighttime temperatures threatened the life of this starving nestling. Part I covered the first 10 days. Part II covered Days 11 - 15. Part III covers Days 16 - 21, (including his release on Day 18) and now... Part IV covers Days 23 - 30. Photographed & Edited by Mike Franzman. Please Note: we initially understood that this baby bird was a starling, so incorrectly titled the video, "Another Starling Story" at first.
