Ride along with the Wichita Fire Department to a triggered fire alarm system in a museum! Watch Wichita's Heavy Rescue Team responding:    • [STATION ALARM] - WICHITA Fire | RESCUE 1 ...   Shortly after noon, an automatic fire alarm was received by the emergency dispatch center of the Wichita, Kansas fire department. Engine 8 and Truck 1 were initially alerted. Battalion Chief 1 and another Fire Engine were added to the call while they were still turning out. In the video, you can see the complete run from the station to the scene - uncut! Fortunately, it quickly turned out to be a false alarm. In Wichita, automatic fire alarms are taken very seriously as “unconfirmed structure fires”. It is not uncommon in the USA to respond to fire alarms with only one fire engine and sometimes even without lights and siren, as these are often false alarms. Wichita, on the other hand, takes a similar approach to fire departments in Germany: As long as the fire department does not know for sure that there is no fire, it is assumed that there really is a fire on site. This is why - as in this video - a battalion chief, two fire engines and a ladder truck are usually alerted to most automatic fire alarms.
