Ricster Diaries Episode 1 - Nottingham & Trams | 07/01/2017

Filmed on 07/01/2017. This is the first attempt of making of a brand new feature on this channel, Video Diary Series (Season 4 Episode 4). For those who are not familiar with video diaries, it is the behind the scenes of how I get to my destinations, what trains and times of the trains I ride on and the simple conclusion at the end of the video diary. To start things off, we head to Nottingham as we start at Scarborough, riding on board 185105 06:30 to Leeds, changed at Leeds for 08:05 Northern 158859 direct to Nottingham fast. Outside Nottingham, we see a class 60 locomotive taking tankers to have no idea where to. After finally finding the signing office, we managed to film a good 2 hours stint at Nottingham station. A good variety as we see a mass of Cross Country Turbostar units, East Midlands Trains sprinters, HST and class 222 units and Northern's class 158's as well. After filming two hours at Nottingham, we move to the NET Nottingham Tram Network. I wasn't all familiar with Nottingham itself which was why decided to stay within the city centre. Next time I head to Nottingham and once I get another camcorder battery, there will defiantly be a longer session of filming trams. After a quick session of filming trams, decided to head back to Nottingham Train Station where we ride from the rear of the tram overlooking the rear cab of the latest trams on the NET Nottingham Tram Network. At Nottingham Station, we take another 158 sprinter back to Leeds via Sheffield. It was tight connecting time for the Scarborough train . After seen the times display board at Leeds and after seeing the train arrive, it was already full and standing room only and loads more was awaiting to board. So, instead of waiting an hour for the next train, I decided to catch Transdev Yorkshire Coastliner 843 to Scarborough via York and Malton. The bus in question for those bus enthusiasts was a Volvo Wright Gemini 2 B9TL. A very lengthy journey of 2 hours 40 minutes by bus but it made a nice change from the trains at least. It was a good first day out and fully enjoyed it as well. The next outing will be on 28/01/2016 where we head to Carnforth. ******************************************************************** Thank You For Watching You Can Follow Me On Twitter: @NowisRicky Flickr: ricnowis Facebook: Ricky Rail Videos Instagram: ricsterpicster ©RickyNowisTrainspotting
