The Railway That Faded Away – Nottingham's Buried Secret

The Nottingham Suburban Railway was once a vital route, built to shorten journeys to Ilkeston and connect Nottingham's brickworks to the railway network. But despite its ambition, the difficult terrain made it expensive to construct, and after just a few decades of operation, it faded into history. Now, 73 years after its closure, much of this railway has been buried or built over-but not all of it. In this video, I walk what remains of the old trackbed, uncovering lost stations, forgotten tunnels, and surviving relics of this abandoned railway. 🚂 Stations once stood at: Sherwood, St Ann's Well, Thorneywood & Daybrook 🚇 Tunnels along the route included: Ashwell, Sherwood, Thorneywood & Sneinton Tunnel (where we take a look inside!) 📌 Subscribe for more abandoned railway explorations!
