BG claimed to have acted alone; someone else provided him with information about the CPNS vacancies at the prison. This person also served as the recipient of the funds. "The person who informed me about the vacancies was Mr. Wiro. He said that if there were any vacancies at the prison, they would replace those who had retired," BG said. BG further explained that the 100 million rupiah he received from the victim was fully paid to Wiro, the person who informed him about the civil servant (CPNS) vacancy at the prison. "I paid all the money to Mr. Wiro, but I didn't receive anything," BG added. BG admitted that Wiro only promised him a fee for the payment. However, he has never received any. "Mr. Wiro told me that if I were to receive a fee, that's all," he explained. The victim of BG's fraud was a resident of Gandusari District, Trenggalek Regency. The victim learned about BG from a neighbor. The neighbor convinced the victim that BG had connections to get people into civil servant positions at the prison. BG then set a price of Rp. 400 million for his services. The victim paid a down payment of Rp. 100 million, promising to pay the remainder after his child passed the civil servant exam. After waiting for a long time, BG's promise was never fulfilled. The victim, who became suspicious, tried to contact BG, but he was difficult to reach.
