ROYLER GRACIE PURE CONNECTION #0043 Royler represented the Gracie Academy in the first Jiu-Jitsu world championships, promoted by his cousin Carlos Gracie Jr. He was a four-time world champion (1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999), becoming to this day one of the greatest winners of the event and one of the leading featherweight athletes of all time. Another event that made him world-renowned was the ADCC, promoted by the Sheikh of the United Arab Emirates every two years. Royler won the tournament in the under 66 kg category in 1999, 2000, and 2001. With his brothers Rickson and Royce moving to the United States, Royler remained living in Brazil for many years and inherited from his father the responsibility of leading the Gracie Humaitá Academy. As a teacher, he was responsible for training great athletes and instructors such as world champions Xande, Omar Salum, Marcus Norat, and Saulo Ribeiro, as well as MMA fighters Fabrício "Morango," Vinny Magalhães, Cristiano Marcelo, and many others. In 2000, Royler moved to San Diego, California, where he runs an academy and frequently travels the world promoting seminars and spreading Jiu-Jitsu and the philosophy developed by his father.
