"A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" Played On 1899 Stella Grand Console Music Box

Here featuring a lovely arrangement played on our 1899 Stella Concert Grand 17 1/4 inch console music box is the beautiful old hymn with words and music written by Martin Luther in 1531, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God". Since I don't speak German I had no idea what the song was on this disc as I'd never played it. As soon as I heard the first notes I was truly moved. I was immediately swept back in time to my early childhood when I attended my Dad's Lutheran church in Herkimer, NY. Whenever this hymn was sung in church I can remember how proudly he would sing. Dad's been gone for many decades now but I will never forget the memories I have of his singing this beautiful hymn.
