It is located 20 km south of the headquarters, 50 km east of Patvadh, in the village council of Taria, police station Chakriya. At one time, this place was completely under the influence of Naxalites. At times, 50 to 100 Naxalites would descend upon the site. Their footsteps and the thunder of guns would pierce the dense silence. Government representatives, especially those from the forest and police departments, were afraid to come here, or they would risk their lives. Many times, they even encountered untoward incidents. Today, continuous development and change have changed a lot, and people have joined the mainstream. Friend, along with the faith and religious significance, visiting here is also quite exciting. I inquired from the local people about Amila Mai Dham. I asked, "How old is the temple?" Some said 80 years, some said 100... But people asked, "Since when has the Mother Goddess resided here?" This remains unknown even today. The Mother Goddess has always resided here, although the temple was built much later. Devotees flock here during Navratri. Sacrifice and Tantric rituals are prevalent at the temple. People sacrifice goats and chickens here. Today, this Dham is on the tourism map of Sonbhadra and the state of Uttar Pradesh.
