This is the construction of the largest infrastructure project underway in Latin America: Metro Line 6-Laranja. With 15.3 km in length and 15 stations, this monumental project aims to connect Brasilândia, in the northern zone, to São Joaquim station, in the city center, reducing travel time from 1h30 to just 23 minutes. Governor Tarcísio de Freitas highlighted the importance of this initiative, classifying it as the largest infrastructure project in Latin America currently underway. In addition, recently approved studies foresee a 7 km expansion and six new stations, extending the line to neighborhoods such as Aclimação, Cambuci and Mooca. Today, in April 2025, the project is already 80% complete. And, in this video, we will explore the details of this mega-project: the challenges faced, the impact it will have on the lives of São Paulo residents — and, most importantly, what is still needed for it to finally be completed.
