How NOT to ride the Rallarvegen

I had been looking forward to this ride since I started planning my trip to Norway so many months ago. It is a fantastic route up in the mountains that has lakes, rivers, waterfalls epic scenery of all kinds. I did not do my research very well and was unaware that, although you can go up there, it is not considered "open" until July. Before then there is still a lot of snow as I found out the hard way.
