Camper Meubels Maken – Een optimaal zittend bankje met mijn ergonomie achtergrond - Wielkasten maken
Making your own campervan furniture is done best with lightweight sheet material. That is why we have chosen to do this with poplar wood. This sheet is light and strong at the same time. We use this to make the benches and the front of the bed. We make the wheel arches from plywood plates. These aren't that nice, but the wheel arches are hidden behind the other furniture. Ergonomic sitting means healthy and comfortable sitting for us. We do have limited space for the seating area, so it is a challenge to make two comfortable benches and a table here. However, this should be possible with my ergonomics background. At least we hope so! The dimensions of the campervan furniture can be found below in the description. The ideal seat height, seat depth and table height! ►SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL FOR FREE AND FOLLOW THE VANCONVERSION / @basbianca.vrolijkopreis ► CHECK OUR INSTAGRAM FOR DAILY UPDATES / vrolijkopreis When you make campervan furniture from heavy wood, the total weight of the bus is also higher. The more weight the higher the price of the fuel will be over several miles. You simply drive less economically if your bus weighs heavier. Thats why it is wise to use sheet material as light as possible. BENCH DIMENSIONS Seat depth 47cm Seat height 42cm Table height bottom 67cm Table height top 70cm These dimensions take into account the installation of a seat cushion of 8 cm thick and a back cushion of 5 cm thick. With these sizes you sit optimally and ergonomically. Keep in mind the space between the benches, because it is tight with us. Unfortunately we didn't have any more space and we sit with our knees crossed. But he that is also nice and close to each other. The dimensions we have used are derived from the anthropometric data. They are the average of man and women. 90 percent of people are fine with these dimensions. However, if you fall into the 10 percent that is smaller or larger than the average. Then of course other sizes apply. CALCULATION OF FUEL CONSUMPTION INCREASED WEIGHT At the beginning of the video I make a calculation of this. In the video, I'll spare you this, but if you're interested in it, it's as follows. I made this calculation by looking at various blogs and articles. I made a reasonable calculation of this myself. Of course every vehicle is different and tire pressure, engine size, axles etc all count. My Fiat Ducato drives about 1 in 14. Diesel price (2022) €1.64 A 2100kg vehicle has 9.4% more fuel consumption per 100kg additional weight. 20,000km per year divided by 14 is 1429 liters of fuel 1429 liters times 1.64 is €2343 2343 times 9.4% is €220 So you pay €220 extra per 100kg of weight per 20,000km. There are probably some flaws in my calculation here and there, but I think I'm pretty close. A lot of furniture is made of MDF, because it can be finished very nicely. For example, our kitchen is made of this material. But we don't do this because the sheet is cheaper than poplar. We do this purely because of the beautiful finish. I have calculated that we are about 60 kilos heavier because of this. This means that we are 132 euros more expensive per 20,000 km. We'll just take that for granted.
