The Lammas Hireling
This animation was created by Yinke Cai and YiCun Guo in response to the poem 'The Lammas Hireling' by Ian Duhig. It was created as part of a collaboration between the University of Hertfordshire's MA animation course and the Forward Arts Foundation to mark the 25th anniversary of National Poetry Day. The animations are screened on Oct 20 at 2pm at the Royal Festival Hall as part of Southbank's Poetry International which will culminate that evening in the Forward Prizes ceremony. Excerpt from the poem: "I grew fond of company that knew when to shut up. Then one night, disturbed from dreams of my dear late wife, I hunted down her torn voice to his pale form."
