Anglesey Menai Strait - The Notorious "Swellies!" - Success Or Disaster!?

After my first night sleeping onboard of Lulu, under my home made tent, day 2 of my 3 day trip sees us navigating the notorious "Swellies". For those who don't know these are the waters between the 2 Menai Bridges, which are well know for severe rapids and overfalls at the wrong time. We sail through South to North on this first encounter and I can;t tell you how nervous I am doing this. On the way we enjoy some of the sights of the Menai and after navigating through the Swellies we stop for a well earned Brunch at Cegin Harris Cafe, which has a superb brekky and lovely coffee! We sail on to Beaumaris and have a real treat on the way back, sailing amongst the MS Menai class boats.
