Pelvic Stability and Neutral Pelvis Positioning
I've been reading on the Pilates message boards that a lot of instructors and studio owners are not teaching neutral spine / neutral pelvis concepts anymore. This could be because they do not see the value in it, or feel it is too difficult to explain. On the other hand, I feel like neutral spine + neutral pelvis + neutral ribcage are extremely important to teach, because it can really help people when they are in less stable activities than Pilates-- like running or lifting weights. In the past year on Zoom, I have tried to hone in on the simplicity of teaching my Zoom clients how to identify the bony landmarks in their own core, and the muscles that stabilize those bones.
