🛑 BYPASS VILLA MARÍA - PISTA NUEVA | Trabajan sobre las 36 VIGAS | Vía Rápida Juan Pablo II

I visited the construction site of the bypass located at the intersection of Pista Nueva Avenue and Villa María Avenue, in the Villa María del Triunfo district. This important section is part of the future Juan Pablo II Expressway. Here on the auxiliary lane, you can see that it is already completely paved in this direction, along with its concrete sidewalks. The progress of this project is much more apparent from the aerial view. The 36 beams have already been lifted and installed on the pillars. Work has begun on the surface of the beams already in place, progressing with the surface covering to continue with the superstructure of the future overpass. This important project is being carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, through Invermet, and aims to comprehensively improve the road section to modernize connectivity in this part of the city. It can also be seen that the future section where the connecting ramp will be located already has leveled and compacted ground. The entire area is clearly marked, indicating the space where the filling and construction of the structure that will form the direct access ramp to the bypass will begin. Up close, the space between the beams reveals the details of how the structure is being assembled: first, these red transverse profiles are placed to support the yellow slats along the length of the bridge. On top of this grid, the greenish panels are installed to completely seal the surface. All of this forms the necessary formwork before the steel reinforcement is placed and the concrete for the roadway is poured. The main benefit of this project will be to optimize traffic flow in South Lima, helping to organize critical intersections and allowing for smoother and safer transit for the thousands of users and residents who travel this route daily.
