🖌️ YA PINTARON LAS BARANDAS DEL CERRO CANDELA! + CARRETERA CENTRAL

Sunday, July 5, 2026. I visited the progress of the Cerro Candela excavation and the widening of the Central Highway in the Ate district. I began my journey traveling from Lima towards Chosica. The entire auxiliary road is now fully paved and marked, as is the main road. The new feature is that the railings have been painted, both on the lower section and on the stairs and the upper part of the wall. It's a two-tone paint job in shades of blue and pink. Here you can see the finished steps of this staircase, which now connects to the upper part of Cerro Candela, along with the painted railings. The progress is much more apparent from an aerial view. In the reclaimed area, the trench excavation and drainage pipe installation have been completed, connecting the manholes. Some pipes are still awaiting installation. The ground is also much deeper, as they have removed a greater amount of material and earth. The gas station is still in place. The wall of the Cerro Candela cut is now completely finished. You can see that the railing at the top has also been painted. They are going to install a traffic light at this intersection. You can also see the pedestrian crossing already painted, along with the concrete bollards. Now I'm going to drive along the detour on the opposite side of Central Avenue this Sunday morning. Central Avenue. At approximately 7:15 a.m. this Sunday, traffic is flowing quite smoothly; however, during the week this whole area is usually very congested. And the Tokio gas station is still here. The signs left by Osinergmin, indicating the closure of this gas station since June 24th, can be seen again. Here you can see the stream of wastewater, as well as the disturbed earth.
