But, the supermassive black holes start from 1 million solar mass. Usually, black holes are formed when the core of a dead star is collapsed. Some scientists speculate that there was a type of stars called Quasi Stars, lived at the early stage of the universe. This type of stars are extremely huge that they have tens of thousands of solar mass. Stars in our universe are powered by nuclear fusion at the center of each stars. But Quasi Stars were powered by huge black holes at their centers. These black holes eventually became supermassive black holes and formed galaxies.
