My First Experience In The Gambia

My first experience in Africa and it had to be The Gambia 🇬🇲 Why? Because my boyfriend is Gambian! Have you ever heard of it before? I hadn't really either. It is Africa's smallest mainland country, completely surrounded by Senegal and the Atlantic Ocean, and they call it the Smiling Coast of Africa. Honestly after being here I get why. The people here will stop you in your tracks. This trip was never really planned. I met @greengambian in Bali, made a throwaway comment (before we were dating) about coming with him on his next visit home, and somehow here I am experiencing his country for the first time… and no doubt it won’t be the last. So this is the start of a whole month here together - exploring, slowing down a little, working remotely, trying local food, meeting people, and seeing a side of life I probably never would’ve experienced otherwise.
