The Monastery of the Holy Sepulchre, in Penalva do Castelo, is one of the rarest and most unknown places in Portugal. Founded in the 12th century and linked to the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, this monastery played an important role in the organization of the territory during the formation of the country.
