The Lamborghini Diablo SE30

The Lamborghini Diablo is a high-performance mid-engined sports car, built by Italian automotive manufacturer Lamborghini from 1990-2001. The car is called Diablo, carrying on Lamborghini’s tradition of naming its cars after breeds of fighting bulls, and the Diablo was named after a bull raised by the Duke of Veragua in the 19th century. An interesting fact is that this car is the first model from Lamborghini that is capable of attaining a top speed in excess of 200 mph (320 kph). In 1993, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Lamborghini, the company produced the Diablo SE 30, which was a limited-production special model. Essentially, the Diablo SE 30 was completely different from other Diablos. The car was designed largely as a street-legal race vehicle to enter GT championships. Lamborghini Diablo SE 30 was lighter and faster in comparison to its standard models. For instance, because it was race oriented, the design reduced the amount of weight of the car without losing its elegance. Lamborghini produced only 150 of these cars in the world and 25 for the United States. One of those was the Lamborghini SE in the metallic-purple color. The purple-shaded vehicle shocked the world—even now, many still dislike the hue—but it has undoubtedly become one of Lamborghini’s iconic colors. After the end of its production in 2001, the Diablo was replaced by the Lamborghini Murcielago.
